Wow, that person is way to critical.
Lee's China is AMAZING A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
I grew up in mt.pleasant and it is defenitly the best resturant there.
Ever since i was a little girl i would BEG my mom to take me, and even know when i know i'm going into mt.pleasant i HAVE to eat here.
Lee's fried rice and egg drop soup is delicious.
Sorry, but the glowing 3 reviews ahead of mine must be made by people who've never eaten authentic Chinese food and are so used to eating stale, warmed over, poorly cared for food from most places in town, that they stopped noticing. Or they own the place.
Once you've have had truly fresh food, properly prepared and well-cared for, served with style and pride of work, then eating some place that doesn't do that really sticks out.
The service is barely adequate. The food is definitely NOT fresh. The flavor is so bland, so stale, so belch-inducing (a sign of re-used or old cooking oil), that it was beyond disappointing.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. I would definitely never recommend Jeffersons Buffet - that place is truly scary.
Instead, try the little place in the Super 1 Center, over by Blockbuster Video. While not very clean either, it is cleaner. And the food is tasty.
I've noticed that a lot of restaurants don't hire bus boys anymore, at least not around here. This means the wait staff have to do it themselves. Which means they touch dirty dishes.
Do you think they wash their hands between bussing and serving?
Yeah, me neither.
So, as we all know, if you say anything even remotely less than a glowing-you-are-the-best-ever to your wait staffer, you will be considered a not nice person. That's risky, if you haven't been served yet. So the only option is to smile, just make it through the meal and never go back.
In a small town, that leaves very few restaurants left to eat at. Many of the natives, especially those who have never lived anywhere else, really don't want to deal with it. It would involve bringing it up directly to someone they share the town with, and they hate that more than anything. They literally will eat someone's filth rather than ask them to do better. They just convince themselves that no one has filth, so, therefore, no one is eating anything bad. Denial, not just a river in Eqypt.
They are just fine with you just leaving if it bothers you that much. Which should not be fine with the local businesses.
But maybe this is the town's way of staying small. Treat new people suspiciously, be resistant to change, reject all criticisms out of hand, be afraid.
Just keep in mind that the local restaurants are not very good, in general. There a few specific exceptions, but very few.
Good luck.
Love Lees China. I always get the lemon chicken that comes with fried rice and egg drop soup! My husband likes their beef and broccoli. Good prices, good food, and kind people.

Wow. I don't think I've ever read a LESS helpful review. Here's a tip: if you are reviewing something, try to stay on topic! You're comments read like a teenager's poorly formed rant. The "small" restaurant that he is talking about is Dynasty Buffet, started by the partner of Jefferson Buffet when they had a falling out. They are both mediocre. As for his review of Lee's China, I have to disagree. He obviously is holding a grudge. The food is well prepared, as fresh as you are going to get anywhere in Northeast Texas, and the staff, while obviously sometimes frustrated from an obvious language barrier, are courteous and clean. If you want decent Chinese food that hasn't sat on a buffet for a long while, then Lee's is really your best choice.
