Last weekend I went on a trip to Jefferson with a few of my friends and after checking in The Jefferson Hotel we decided to try out Lamache's Italian Restaurant. The prices were high and it took forever to get our food. The waitress was not apologetic. We were hoping it was worth the wait but the food was awful. The Chicken Alfredo was very dry and needed sauce and the marinara sauce taste like it came from a jar. No one liked the food. Later when we walked out back to sit on the patio we smelled something that smelled like a dead animal, the smell was horrific. We asked someone what the smell was and they said the sewer system is always having problems. This was right near the kitchen. I would never eat there again.
Girlfriend weekend away. Looking for Ghosts and lots of shopping. Decided to eat the 1st night at Lamache's because we were tired and it was in our hotel. The hostess was very nice and all afternoon we had heard people all over town talking about how good it was, so we decided to give it a try. We had got a menu earlier and were aware of the steep prices and since we had eaten a late lunch we thought we would spilt a dinner. Well first off the waitress was not very welcoming. We ordered our drinks and looked over the menu to make sure we knew what we wanted. The waitress came back and we placed our order. To our surprise there was a $5 charge to share a meal and you still only get 1 salad. The lasagna was already 14.95 making it now 19.95. But not being that hungry we decided to pay the $5. We got our meal after several servings of bread (which was the best food they served all night) and found the lasagna tasteless and mushy. The noodles were overcooked and we felt like we were eating oatmeal topped off with marinara sauce. When asked how the food was we replied and was given a "Really? That is my favorite dish. Our lasagna has won awards." The sauce tasted like it was from a jar and not a high end one at that. We were never compensated for the tasteless food, never apologized to for the rudeness and to top it all off after the waitress left our table she proceeded to talk rudely about our complaint to the hostess not 4 feet away from our table. I do not recommend Lamache's and as for the prices they are as tasteless as the Lasagna.
i must admit i was very surprised by the food here. After being scared away by the prices my first trip up there, my husband and I along with another couple decided to make a romantic evening of it on our second trip. While the menu isnt as varied as i would have liked the new york strip steak was perfect. Yes you pay mosre for ANYthing because of the location but if you want to splurge this is the spot. our waitress was super sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. she even went in search of splenda for my tea! She couldnt find any but i was happy she took the time to look. On our trip coming up we will go back to lamache's!
