User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI've known Doug and Demeris all my life. What they have accomplished with the 5D in a town like Avinger is incredible. The food is consistently excellent - the T-Bone Steak is awesome. The pork chops have to be seen to be believed - they're as big as a steak! Try the Bronco Bites - a new twist on jalepeno. When Leif is cooking, lookout - he likes to try new twists on old recipes and it's always wonderful. Check it out, along with the 3-D antique store across the street!!

I sure don't see why some people complained about the food. The steaks are so juicy they practically melt in your mouth. The grilled chicken breast are way more than an average person could even think of eating. It is always wait time on a Friday or Saturday night but worth the wait. If the sidewalk is full and people are still parking and waiting that right there tells you it must be good food! On Saturday night there is always the T-bone special, add a potato, and the fixins' you want a salad and wow what a meal you have. Save room for some delicious blackberry cobbler with ice cream.. you will not be dissappointed in anything served at The 5D Cattle Company. There is no comparison in a steak for miles or for that matter any of the foods served at 5D... rated #1 in my book *****.

While the storied owner and restaurant are quaint, the food is not worth the money. We went with a group, and not one person raved about the food. It was tolerable to sent-back in quality. Next time I am in / near Jefferson, I'm heading to other eateries that are deserving of my money.
