If you like really good food and value freshness, this is the best real restaurant in Palestine. The Italian food is very good, and it's the only place in Palestine you'd want to eat fresh seafood. It does get crowded at peak hours like Saturday nights or Sundays after church but the wait is worth it. They make the BEST pizzas in town and the only calzones worth eating -- they are very, very good with nice sauce and good crusts. Their daily specials are highly recommended, because these are always the freshest foods. The Italian dishes are as good as I've had in many restaurants in Houston or Dallas, and service is good and pleasant. It's true they have no liquor license, but YOU CAN BRING YOUR OWN WINE OR BEER!!!
Good stuff: The food is very rich and there is a large variety to choose from. The owner is very nice and is willing to get you anything you need.
Pros: Wonderful food
Cons: No liqueur license, so no wine or mixed drinks with your meal unless you bring them yourself, but you may not know what it is you want till youget there; so red or white...you'll have to bring both. BYOB
Pretty Good: The first thing I noticed was that they served bread and seasoned olive oil. This is fairly common among Italian restraints. I would have preferred the oil to be plain extra virgin olive oil seasoned with more garlic and leave out the vinegar. It was good but could be better.
The service was adequate. We were there during off hours, now this could have helped service or hurt it. Overall the service was not bad, but nothing to brag about.
The place was clean, and was nice to look at. There is a nice mural on the wall makes you think youre by a canal watching the gondolas. They had candles on the tables and dim lights. This could be a nice place for a date.
The food of course is the reason you go to a restaurant to begin with. I had the pasta sampler, it was really good. Its a small portion of Cannelloni, Lasagna, and Manicotti. The only thing I found I didnt like about it was the dish it was served in. It was a bit unstable. But the taste and textures were very good. My wife had the Veal Parmesan. We were not impressed with it at all. The crust was a bit overdone and hard, and there was not much parmesan flavor. It could have had more parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese. It was not bad, but I wouldnt order that again.
Overall it was not a bad place to eat. The prices are good, and the food is good. Some things are better than others, as most in restaurants. For the price this is a good Italian restaurant. I give it a 3 star rating. It may be a bit harsh however.
