    Ummm.... It was okay. I decided to try it after reading the reviews here. We drove up, packed parking lot ( A good sign). I'm not a "Decor" person, but cheap tables and hardly any decorations hot me when I first walked in. I am however, a food person. In fact, I know the business! (Worked Mex more than a few times) EXCELLENT, fresh home cooked food. Not your toss on a shallow plate, made once a week and put in 5 gallon bucket meal. VERY apparent. Meager portions for the price I paid. Bottom line: Not the best, but FAR not the worst. Not your "El Applebees" by far....

    Some of the best homemade Tex-Mex you'll ever get anywhere. The staff is very friendly. The prices are very reasonable. The food is exceptional. My kids live in San Antonio and swear this is better than anything there. They always have at least one meal at Morales every time they come to Lufkin. If you like El Chico type Mexican food, this may not be the place for you. This is the real deal! And, ask for the "special" hot sause and a roasted jalapeno! Just be prepared to BURN!!!

    Angel is the best waiter in Lufkin.
    Morales' is the only place that gives peppers, onions, and carrots with the red sause and chips and that is one of the things that makes Morales the best.
