I did love the food and the place but now since they have redecorated it become offensve with the big cotton bale on the shelf .I as a African American don't want to be reminded of slavey when I'm eating ,I get eought of that just living in this oldest racist town .
I enjoyed it. The food was good and the people were friendly. I have been back a few times and had no problems.
The service is terrible, the food is horrible, and it is also overpriced. If I wanted to eat food that bad I'd just go to Jack in the Box.

I went for lunch & liked it too, however when i ordered the broccoli and cheese soup, the brought me "CRAKERS" when i didn't ask for them! as a hard working caucasian male i was very upset,i do not want to be reminded that i cannot collect welfare, and i have nothing else to whine about,so i must look for anything and everything to answer for my own worthlessness since my mommy and daddy wont give me a titty...ah hell..maybe i should just get over it!!!!!!!......ps. they have machines to pick cotton these days, operated by whites,blacks,mexicans,...and anyone else willing to work, and earn it!!!!........
LOL You should have told them Thanks for the Crackers it would go very well with your titty. I thought all Cracker liked crackers I too would love to collect on welfare but I rather just work hard but It not appreciated in this town ,Not all Blacks get welfare but there are white that do too .I do agree let get over it , I have got over it and take my hard earm money and go to Lufkin ,Longview, Tyler and Houston .Ps I would like to know what History book you been reading or have you ever pick up a book . Peace too you .
My mom and dad both picked cotton when they were younger and they were proud to say so, they were not ashamed of working hard, which they both did since they dropped out of school to work farm (my dad never made it to high school). It was their work ethic which instilled in me the determination to go to college full-time while working full-time, and raising my son alone in a city far from my family. Much of that time I was on welfare and food stamps and am not ashamed to say so as for the past 15 years I have used my graduate degree to start my own business and employ others while creating an organization which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local causes. So the sight of a cotton bale fills me with pride, not anger, but that's my choice. Oh, BTW, I'm not black, or a woman...I'm a white guy
