You can call it a dive if you like but you have probably never really been in a "dive" if you say that about Catfish Sam's. While it is not fine dining I have never found better catfish in Arlington. I've been there multiple times and it's clean including the bathrooms. The service is great. MMMmmm fried pickles! Most importantly the catfish is wonderful.
For those who had a bad experience... this place deserves another try for sure.
I ate lunch with my wife at Catfish Sam's today. Our waitress was great anc checked on us often during our meal. Catfish was perfect and my wife's fried clams were very tasty. I always enjoy the beans, relish trays, cornbread and rolls. The place is a dive and I like it. It's always appears to be packed full of customers during their lunch rushes and I know they aren't there for the decor. Forget the decor and enjoy the food.
Wow...just wow! To start, I have a new favorite restaurant (especially for catfish). It was my wife's and my first time to eat at Catfish Sam's and I have to say, I was rather impressed. When we first arrived, there were hardly any spots left in the parking lot (completely unexpected...we thought it was going to be a much smaller place). As soon as we were seated the waitress was ready to take drink orders. She answered all our questions about the menu with enthusiasm complemented with recommendations (considering it was our first time). This could be a long review...to cut it short, despite the massive amount of people the service and food were amazing. All together with margaritas and appetizers our total was about $30 and we left with two full to-go boxes! We will definitely be going back!
