North Main is a hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint for people who ain't into fancy surroundings but into gorging themselves. It is seat yourself picnic style with your choice of tea or water or whatever you bring yourself to drink. (BYOB)
From my recollection there is chicken breast, sliced or chopped beef, pork ribs and maybe some other cut of pork. (I don't eat pork) The sides are pinto beans, cole slaw, potato salad, peppers, pickle relish and onions. Then there is sliced bread if you want and BBQ sauce and soft serve ice cream.
If you're into exquisite service like you find at Morton's Steakhouse this is the wrong place for you. i.e. I pointed to the chicken and asked if it was chicken and the guy said "it was chicken yesterday." I always ask if they have anything good to eat (sarcastly) and they always give a sarcastic reply back. (We always jack with each other like that)
Again, if you're into special service don't come here. If you're into down home BBQ and overeating this might be your bag. More times than not I leave with a stomach ache from eating too much meat. My favorite thing to do is make sandwiches with chopped beef or sliced chicken breast smothered in BBQ sauce.
One of these days I'm gonna quit fooling myself thinking I'm gonna eat a balanced meal here by eating the sides and just eat bread and meat.
I try to avoid this place but it always beckons me back!
The food isn't special, but the people were nice . . . I can get THAT at home.
I've lived in Euless 15 years and finally went to North Main BBQ a couple of weeks ago. For $12 you can eat all you want. It was good food and friendly service in an unusual configuration. I can see where some people could be put off.
They tout the fact they are featured on the Food Network but I truly didn't see what all the fuss was about. In this area the BBQ competition is tough and which is "best" is subjective.
I liked it but I won't go out of my way to eat there.
