About:King Tut Restaurant is located in a newly renovated area near downtown Fort Worth. Opened by Cairo native Amin Mahmoud in October of 1992, King Tut features Egyptian, Greek and Middle Eastern food in a setting that features tapestries, Egyptian figures and images of the real King Tut adorning the walls. Entrees include fried falafel with chickpeas, fava beans, onions and leeks, Macarona Bil Bechamel- an Egyptian-style lasagna with sirloin beef and tubular pasta as opposed to lasagna noodles, and the delectable shawarma, which combines loads of shrimp, chicken breast, lamb or sirloin with onions, tomatoes and spices. I worked there many years ago. King Tut Restaurant is one of the cleanest kitchens in FW IMHO. The food is heavenly. The chicken shwarma is memorable and the Small Maza Plate with eggplant dip and hummus, sambosa and falafel is my favorite meal/appetizer. To bad the owner is a sexist jerk, must be a cultural thing. I still go there - I don't have to like the man to acknowledge his gem of a restaurant. BEST middle eastern food in the Metroplex.

I have been to King Tut twice, and both times had fabulous food and service. Well worth the drive from Dallas to Fort Worth to eat at this restaurant.

Let's talk Tut!: If you have always wondered what Egyption food tastes like but you don't want to spend a lot of money finding out. This is the plase for you. The staff is so nice and friendly they will recommend items for you if you have a hard time deciding. What ever you get you won't be disappointed. And of course if you don't like someone choosing for you...get the chicken.
