Stylish Concert Hall: So far, this is the most elegant venue in the DFW area that we have enjoyed. It is a great place to enjoy a concert, a musical or a play in grand style. It is a large venue but the acoustics are great. You may still need to bring binoculars to see the details on the stage however. The nice thing that makes this a fun evening out is that there is ample free parking in a multi level structure right across the street and there are plenty of upscale and medium scale restaurant and pubs within walking distance. Plus you feel perfectly safe although you are right downtown in a fairly large city.
Absolutely Wonderful: I have been to Bass Performance Hall many times and have never been disapointed. The quality of workmanship of the building and the quality of the plays and musical events are outstanding. You should go!
If you haven't been...go there.: I have long held the belief that the best play venues in the world (on average) exists in the theatre district of London. Furthermore, I believe the best concert venues can be found in Rome and other parts of Europe. Most American venues for either are created with economics first in mind, and then deal with esthetics and acoustics later. There are of course some exceptions to this generality, but by in large, it is true. That being said, I love Bass Hall; it is one of the best combinations of concert/theatre venues I have ever experienced. My wife and I have seen many events there and have absolutely loved each and every one. Like any good venue, the venue itself sets the tone and mood and it accentuates the event, actually adding to the experience. Bass Hall is beautiful, well designed, the acoustics are great, and the overall impression is one of quality. If you havent been there go.
