Wow! What a great candy store! This place has hundreds of different candies on stock! The candy that's carried in here I haven't seen for years--- candy/bubble gum cigarettes, necco wafers, squirrel nut zippers, valomilk, mallocups, and not to mention over 30 flavors of REAL salt water taffy. My family and I go at least once a month to stock up on all their taffy flavors! Other candy stores in the metroplex charge candy for either $16 a pound or $4 for a quarter of a pound and don't have anywhere near the variety, so at Candy Barrel, it is worth it to pay only $8 a pound.

I used to be able only to get out to that part of town in the morning or early afternoon, but I recently started going later in the day, and boy! what a difference in staff. I recommend going the afternoon or morning, the kid who works later in the day hardly gets off his cellphone to ring customers up. However, the manager is just great she keeps the atmosphere friendly and fun!

I highly recommend this candy store to anyone who is wanting to wow their friends and family with candy from the past or is just looking for a family-friendly trip to the stockyards!
