User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsJust a wonderful, old fashioned place that hasn't changed in decades and still serves good honest food. The elderly owner still presides over what is a classic Texas small town beer and barbecue joint. This is the real deal. Enjoy it, there aren't many places like this left, and when they're gone.....

After visiting numerous barbeque joints in many states I stumbled onto the Taylor Cafe by accident while photographing the adjacent Union Pacific yards. Best barbeque I've ever had. Plus you may meet the owner, Vencil, a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge in WW II. Waitresses are real dolls and very gracious. I wish I could eat there every day but I live in Olympia, wa. The ultimate small town Texas hospitality and if there's better barbeque anywhere, I've never found it.
