It needs to be said that in Killeen, TX, you really aren't going to find 100% authentic Chinese food and anyone of genuine Chinese ancestry who judges any asian restaurant against the authentic thing will come up wanting. I'm Cajun, for instance, and I can't eat at K.G's Cajun Kitchen in Heights, because I know what real, fresh Cajun food tastes like. If you enjoy it, eat it.
hes right. if you people really know chinese food, (which most of you people dont because if you did, you would know that a real chinese restaurant serves dimsum in the mornings, and at lunch, awesome fried squid, frog legs, certain flavored short ribs.) there is no real chinese food in killeen. for all you people who think buffets are good chinese food you are sadly mistakened. most of you people around killeen, excluding chinese people, dont know what real chinese food is. believe me, iam chinese myself and i have high expectations when it comes to my own food. because ive had the best (obviously cause iam chinese and my parents are traditional). well anyways. if you want some real stuff you need to go to a chinatown. If you know anything about chinese food, you would not enjoy Taiwan Dragon. My experience here is the same as when I go to the crappy chinese fast food place in the mall. You know, the ones that serve you 30 different flavors of chicken. Atleast you know what you're getting at the mall, Taiwan Dragon wants to portray itself as an authentic chinese restaurant, but the truth is, they serve the same kind of crappy Chinese food as all the other pace in Killeen, TX. They have a dish called "Rainbow Rice", which is crappy fried rice. I don't understand where the rainbow part comes into play. I guess it's a real popular dish for their patrons. Yank Sing doesn't call their fried rice "Raibow Rice", but it tast just like the Taiwan Dragon dish. Bottom line, the owners of Taiwan Dragon are an embarrassment to the Chinese people.

They've said before that they serve Americanized Chinese food, and I highly doubt that many people in Killeen would order frog legs. I'm Taiwanese and my parents often make traditional Taiwanese foods (such as èå), but we go to Taiwan Dragon at least three or four times a month. It may not be authentic, but that doesn't mean it's not good. Maybe you should try being less narrow-minded?
