This restaurant is disgusting. I used to be a regular customer. Everytime I have ordered anything whether on the menu or buffet, it is not fit to eat. They also have the rating of 40th Best Small Town Cafe in Texas which is a disgrace. Whoever gave them that rating must be a moron. Also, the wait staff is rude and too preoccupied to check on the customers or refill drinks. Also, I have ordered onion rings that were burned and hamburgers that taste horrible. Its like they don't care if you do business with them or not. They always seem to be busy but that is the only restaurant in McGregor, so there really isn't much choice. The former owner, Tony, had a great place and delicious food, but Don and Valeri have really made this place go downhill. I would not refer this place to anyone. They need to go out of business. The fast food places in McGregor are better than this slop. I have other friends that agree with me, as well, on this cafe and have quit going there. About the only thing they serve that they haven't ruined yet is their breakfast ordered off the menu. This is a sorry excuse for a restaurant.
Vegetarian friendly: I always get the salad/vegetable buffet, and there is plenty I can eat. Just watch for bacon added to some of the veggies. Lettuce is mostly head lettuce, but again, there's many other choices. Rolls and cornbread come with buffet. Dessert of the day is included, and coffee/tea prices are most reasonable around. Owner is often there, and it shows. Can order breakfast items at lunch. Worth the trip to McGregor!
Hidden Secret: This small town shop has all of the atributes of a large scale dinner.
