Went with two 11 year olds and a 6 year old, and a good time was had by all. It takes about two hours to take in the whole zoo, but this was perfect for day trip from Round Rock/Georgetown. In my book it only rates behind the Ft. Worth zoo in terms of facilities.
This zoo is amazing for little children. Instead of taking all day to get through it only takes about two hours and about every third exhibit there is an air-conditioned exhibit, making it perfect for small children, elderly people, and people who just don't handle the heat as well. Of course, it's also great for bigger people too. I love the otters and the bears.
My Opinion of the Cameron Park Zoo: The zoo is rather small compared to where I am from. The zoo that is in my home town takes all day to get through this one takes an hour to an hour and a half. All though it was fun. The other part that I really did not like about it was we did not get to see everything. The map says to go this and that way but when you get there you sit back and wonder if you should go that way or through that door. When you are at a zoo you dont want to go through a door that is not labled. You dont know what is going to be on the other side of that door. No there was not anything that said for "Park Empoyees Only" but still when you have children with you, you dont want to take any kind of chances. Other than that it was alot of fun. The kids enjoyed it and so did I.
