Chinatown is sadly on decline and this building is no exception, but the size of lunchtime crowds to Hung Kee really says that there is still some life leftto this veteran restaurant. The buffet is very small but the items make up in taste what they lack in variety. The best item has got to be the fried dumpling that are hand made and fresh made every day with no horrible ginger taste as in other restaurants, dont be surprised if you see the owner and waitresess making them. Next up has got to be the the beef broccoli, the sauce is very good. The fried shrimp can be incosistent but have a good taste. The shrimp are best during lunch time. The service is very friendly and remembers you. They dont accept tips at the table and the owner is vocal about it so take no offense. This is also one of the most inexpensive buffets around, about $6 for lunch.
It is small and run down. Too much oil and the buffet is small. This part of the old Chinatown seems to be on the downhill slide. I used to eat here but I will not be back.
