| About: | Cafeteria-style dining is not exactly impressive, but the food more than makes up for the lack of ambiance. The downtown location and lunch-only hours serve to weaken family appeal but it is perfect for the casual diner who happens to be hungry while in the area. With the kitchen featuring chicken and sausage gumbo and duck gumbo, Tuesdays and Wednesdays draw the biggest crowd. Vegetarian options are also available daily. |

Happy New Year,
I have been a resident in the city of Houston since 1980. When I found out about Treebeards I felt like God gave me a special gift. None of my other friends, associates or aquaintances could appreciate unless they went to experienced it for themselves. Through all the hustle and bustle that goes on in the downtown area a piece of Heaven on this earth. Who cares if the chairs aren't what each person's standards expect. I went for the food and good conversation with my friend once, then my co-worker and later my sister. I am particular about where I dine and the food I eat. I bragged about this is the best I tasted other than my Mother's. Thank you for keeping Heaven real on earth. The service was great and I always leave wanting more. That's how it should be everywhere we go. I have given made kudos to your resturant without you all knowing about it, from Texas to Lousianna, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina California and Big Sky country Montanna. You need more locations and longer operation hours everything else will speak for itself.
May God Continue to Bless your Blessing to the community.
Yummy: You have to try the shrimp etouffe,it's the best you can get without having to go to New Orleans.
