I have a 58” Panasonic Plasma TV which required service. It was covered by an extended warranty from Mack TV which required me to use Bammel TV to do the work. The short story – it took 2 months from the time Mack approved the initial diagnosis until the TV was working again. I can attribute 1 week of this total time back to Mack for time required to approve the repairs after diagnosis. The remaining time was due to poor service from Bammel. During this time we had to regularly call and prompt Bammel into action. It was incredible that they seem to just forget about us until we called to inquire and then this seemed to again prompt them into some action. We were misled several times about expected delivery of parts which didn’t happen. The actual serviceman seemed very good and was able to diagnose and install the required parts when received. They get 2 stars instead of one because they did eventually get the TV fixed.
If you have to use Bammel TV, my advice is to call every other day to keep things moving.
We process upwards of 5,000 repair tickets per year here at Bammel TV. I can assure you we have zero interest in delaying repairs, as we do not receive compensation until our repair is completed! I do not have specific information about this repair ticket nor why the repair was delayed. Occasionally on extended-warranty or 3rd Party warranty tickets we can experience various types of delays; if the customer would care to contact me I will examine the case and try to find out what happened on this particular ticket. An individual repairman came over for a service call. Cost $86, $3.90 savings because I paid over the phone with a credit card in advance. My mistake. The TV repairman said my TV could be repaired for $325, plus possibly an additional $150 if a tube was required, plus tax. This was Monday, April 4, 2011. Was not phoned back. On 4-11-11 I called back and they didn't seem to have any information on the service call, but would call back. The next day they called and said it would be at least $875 for repairs and they would not recommend having repairs done. I asked about the original quote and was told that it had changed. Apparently the repairman who analyzed my TV had no credibility and or was incompetent.
Bammel TV attempts to respond to all complaints fairly and promptly, however anonymous online reviews are difficult to address. Regarding this complaint we would normally have news earlier barring research or sourcing difficulties on a part. Regarding price, the technician will supply a technical assessment but in some cases may not have accurate parts pricing immediately at hand. The customer is encouraged to contact me directly if he should wish to review the case details again. John Doba, VP, Bammel TV
