About:The atmosphere in this little cafe/pub definitely brings to mind 'merry old England'. If you miss your British adventures, or you have never gotten a chance to have one, then you must go to this place. Sit at the bar, or if you get there early enough, a table by the fireplace. Burgers and sandwiches are available, but the experience is much more authentic when you try the Shepherd's Pie or one of the other traditional English dishes. The breakfast options are also worth a visit.

I came in with my fiance who is from the UK(Newcastle) and knows true British fare. The service was molasses slow, the food was just ok and not worth the exorbitant price and for being a British pub(trying to be) they should have had a British manager and some British staff. My fiance and I enjoyed sitting outside much more with just a couple sodas than inside waiting for forever and paying over $60 for a fare of peasant food, just common fare. It took forever to get served and once we did the server was ignorant of us for the vast majority of the time. If you want really fantastic English fare and a much better experience, go to Fox And Hounds on Westheimer Road.

My favorite English pub experience! I have been a fan of The Black Lab for years and have never been disappointed. The Fish and Chips are probably the best in the city and if you've never had an English breakfast with Scotch Eggs, Rarebit, Scones and all the trimmings then you definitely need to try out this long time, favorite pub for Sunday brunch. Merry Old England in Houston - what a combination!

Great pub! Lots of fun. Good food and atmosphere. Very nice menu at reasonable prices. Great for lunch or a casual dinner.
