| About: | Cleburne Cafeteria was opened by the Mikelis family in 1952 and has not strayed from its simple, southern-inspired recipes for generations. A packed house should be expected at whenever you go but the crowd and popularity are warranted. The dishes are tasty and the servers are professional and courteous. The demur, quiet ambiance only serves to focus attention on the meal. It is the right choice for a family-friendly cafeteria experience with enough choices for even the pickiest eater. |

the food was so good i wanna go back, high priced but so yummy! the price 2 stars, food 5 stars
Cleburnes, was ok with me until today; I have had a relasp of the flu and wasn'f feeling well, however I still went to work, but at the same time I needed to put some fluids in my body other than water and juice.I called Cleburnes to see what the soup of the day was and was told "chicken tortilla", ok mmmmmmmm........I'll take it.....the downfall of the situation is first of all I had to hold on the phone for about 15 mins, remind you I had all 3 lines tied up and no one picked up that phone. I had to continue to call back. After I was able to input my order, went to pick it up (it was ready), I asked for some crackers and the lil cashier had the nerve to tell me that each cracker was 0.06 (cents). How dare you or that manager charge for crackers !!!!! I thought soup came with crackers or the crackers were given free up request. After that request and I refused to pay for crackers, I asked for some extra tortilla.......that lil "julio" looked at me if I was crazy. To make a long story short, I had tortilla soup from Jasons' Deli on yesterday, even though it was a smaller cup and costed more, it tasted much better than Cleburnes. That's the worst tortilla soup I have ever tasted, it was full of nothing but a lot of finely cut up vegtables (too many onions) and only a few chicken chunks. I will not be going back to Cleburnes, and it's not because of their food, nor tortilla soup.....it's because of the unprofessionalism that I received today. To top it all off, they wouldn't even get me a Mgr, by phone nor as a walkin when asked for one. Some of us need to go to school for Communication, Customer Service, Business Management, etc.....anything that falls within of the guideline of serving the pubic.
I wasnt impressed but it was good. Kinda like a high class Lubys. I did clean my plate, but for around 20 dollars a person you could go somewhere else. It was a nice atmosphere and the service was nice, just a little much for what you get.
