A crazy good unexpected surprise! "Don't judge a book by it's cover" definitely applies to this place. This family-owned grocery store/deli has been around since the '60's from what the owner told me. It's very quaint and vintage :)

So of course, after hearing so much about the burger, I took one to go (along with a rare old-school bottled soda). I raced back to my downtown office and when I opened up the box, the smell was amazing. I even got a few comments from some bypassers about how good it smelled. But the taste was even better! I still remember that first bite--I first hit a piece of fresh crunchy lettuce and then the hot burger patty. The combination of everything was great! In conclusion, YUM!!!

Excellent burgers and a very hole-in-the-wall type of joint. Do not let the looks of the store fool you, the kitchen is superbly sanitary as are the people that work there. Burgers are always fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend for all Houston locals to try it out. It is family-owned and operated, which makes for a very comfortable atmosphere. It can get quite busy at times, but the wait is soo worth it for the freshness.
