| About: | The decor at Taste of Texas is rustic cowboy with a collection of right-wing "Texana" (think Rush Limbaugh) lining the walls. The focus is primarily on beef. Those who are not squeamish are even invited to cut their own steak as thick as they like. Crisp salads and buttery baked potatoes are served alongside your favorite cut. The menu also offers burgers, sandwiches and seafood and chicken delicacies. |

Not bad - but I wasn't impressed, at all. Pricey food, and Texas Roadhouse serves a better steak!
Been going there since 1978 when it was in a small building in the back of Town & Country. Always excellent service, terrific food and if something's wrong, they replace it fairly quickly (can't cook a new steak on a dime y'know). As with any top-notch steak place, it's pricey and I consider it an "occasion" place (for b-days, graduations, etc). Can't go wrong with their filet, salad bar, glass of Blackstone Merlot & a slice of heaven. Always, always get their gift certs at X-mas. Buy $100 - get $25.00 cert free! We take all our Louisiana visitors here - they love it...unfortunately, they now EXPECT it. Good stuff.
I went there a couple of months ago with some friends and the service was excellent and the place is nice but the ribeye and crab cakes we ordered were not up to par with the prices. I ate a Perry's steakhouse a couple of weeks later and it blew this place out of the water. I am not saying the food is not good but it is definitely not excellent.
