ABSOLUTELY 100% RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS!!! Bought an immaculate "77 Corvette Stingray that only needed help with the A/C (didn't blow cold or hard enough). After attempting to drive it for a few weeks in the summer with little to no air flow, I had to get it fixed because I wanted to enjoy my car and show it off. My usually great mechanic said that he didn't work on cars that old (huh?). So I figured that i had better get someone who specialize in Corvettes and took it to Corvettes of Houston (WARNING: don't ever make that mistake) who attempted to rip me off with their incompetence and price gouging of $100/hr labor to fish around and try to figure it out as they went. After making an appointment to come back and an spending an 8-hr day with them (they estimated 3-4 hours) and several hundred dollars later, the problem was exactly the same: the air barely trickled out and it was at about 120 degrees. NO CHANGE AT ALL. They were supposed to replace the blower motor with a larger one from a newer year model to increase the volume of air being pushed and then charge the compressor with freon, but instead they put the same one back in (totally incompetent idiots at Corvettes of Houston). It was all I could do not to strangle the guy, (VICTOR) when he started complaining about how he was going to have to take it out again and put in a new one and not get paid for his time (because of his mistake). So I saved him the trouble and got a refund and left before he got physically hurt. I then found "Aggie" and Alamo Air on the internet because of his impeccable reputation. I was a little hesitant due to it being a small business and then I remembereed all of the great mechanics that used to work on my hot rods back in the day that had similar places and who were exceptional mechanics. I showed up and his 4 auto bays were filled with (in order) a 1975 Corvette, a 1970 Corvette, a 1969 Camaro and a vintage Jaguar. I had a feeling I had come to the right place. Aggie figured out the problem in about 5 seconds of sticking his head inside the car. Aggie completely repaired my A/C system to PERFECTION in ONE DAY and I can't say enough great things about this business. Not only did he repair my A/C compressor, he got inside my dash and cleaned out and adjusted my ducts, adjusted my a/c control so that it worked on high and low, which it previously did not, and repaired my a/c control panel, which was falling down inside my console. On top of that, he installed a new electric window motor switch and put on a needed part for my brake pedal. He installed a manual heater valve core switch as well that allows my corvette to run cooler and blow colder. NOW, GET THIS: HE DID ALL OF THIS FOR $250!!!! The car has run perfect for over a month now and blows ice cold. The guy knows these cars inside and out and will get my business for ALL of my auto repairs from here on out. He is the man, bar none, if you need competent, reliable A/C work for at least half the cost of everyone else. Don't make the same mistake of trying anyone else first, like I did. He also does other types of repairs, as stated above. He will not price gouge you and will keep the price at an unbelievably low level in order to keep you coming back and, quite frankly, because it is the fair and reasonable thing to do. He is honest and does what he says he is going to do. NO bait and switch. I could go on forever about how impressed I am with Alamo Air, It's great to finally, after over 20 years here in Houston, to find a place that is honest, economical, and most of all, and most important to me, COMPETENT!!! Aggie is the man, I had the dealership do a complete job on my A/C 3 months ago. I paid thru the nose to get it fixed. It worked for 2 months then it worked on and off, I took it back to the dealership who told me it was now the radiator and that they would have to do more work on it. Disgusted, I took it to Aggie, I explained what had happened and what they said I needed. He checked out my car, including the radiator. Turns out the radiator was fine, the AC which worked on and off needed a switch and a fan. I am now good to go and will certainly recommend this place.
