User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI took my kids there for lunch after a trip to the Blue Bell Creamery because the place got good reviews on the net. I was very disappointed. We were not greeted when we walked in after standing around for almost five minutes. I asked the staff if we were supposed to seat ourselves and they said we will be with you in a minute. Other people just came in and sat down.
The tables around us never got cleaned so it felt unclean. My 5 yr old daughter had to go to the counter to ask for crayons for the kids menu. The grilled cheese sandwiches were not very kid oriented. I did not even like it.
After being served we never saw the waitress again and none of the staff seemed to have any personality like you expect in a warm small town.
The chicken salad sanwich was good but not worth returning to such a cold place, but don't take my word for it everyone else on here seems to think it rocks.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWe have eaten at this small slightly out of the way place over the years and the food is absolutely fabulous. Our favorite is the chicken salad on sourdough bread with Bever chips (natural cut chips). Of course we cannot leave without a peice of homemade pie. Stop and enjoy this hidden jewel of Texas.

Bever's has wonderful food. Every day they offer several specials written on the chalkboard on the front porch. Their chicken fried steak is very large and comes with generous side dishes; the chicken salad stuffed avocado & spinach salad is delicious for a lighter meal. And the pies!! Baked fresh daily. This is a terrific place to eat...be prepared to wait for a table -- it's a very popular lunch place.
