My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and anniversary, both times were very unpleasant at check-in/check-out time. Our reservations were completely screwed up and to top it off we were charged for an additional night due to their mistake with the reservations. I would highly recommend calling a day or two in advance to make sure your reservations are correct. Poor management of the front desk by supervisors, however the staff was helpful and the valet guys were great!
There's nothing bad to say: there is nothing bad to say about this hotel - staff was great - catering was fantastic - especially Courtney who handled a wedding rehearsal dinner for my gentleman friend for his daughter. She was professional and got everything just right! We were more than pleased. Clean towels, clean room, quiet room, good views, good food - we have nothing bad to stay here - great place to relax - don't hesitate to make this hotel one of the ones you will enjoy in this town of Galveston. Went on Honeymoon here: It was a very nice place. The lobby is incredible. The view of the pyramids out the window the next morning was awe inspiring. Seemed like we were in some surreal Egypt , especially since it rained the whole time we were there. Lunch was great. Loved the trio of salads ( shrimp , tuna and chicken ) . When we arrived in our room we had chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us etc. That is a package you have to purchase seperately. The breakfast breads were incredible. The ambience was just wonderful. The pool area was gorgeous. This was in 2000 , so it may have changed some. Let's hope not.
