User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWe were out looking for a local, not franchise, restaurant on Memorial Day and, lucky for us, the Kountry Kitchen in Dayton was open. We had plain, ol' Texas food -- chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken -- and both were excellent. Be careful, though. We ordered the half size and couldn't nearly finish it all. Makes me wonder what the full size looks like. My CFS - one of the best I've ever tasted. Home-breaded, great gravy, what else could you ask for? Other than having to diet the rest of the week, of course. We like the local atmosphere. Some might call it slow. We call it relaxed.
