I'm not sure about the two reviews before me, but I had a horrible experience with SAS.

My 2004 Cavalier was nearly totaled out and George said he would be able to fix it for me. Well 2 weeks in I got a call from him saying that the engine needed to be replaced. He said it ran dry with no oil and locked up. Only problem was that the engine never lost any oil, nor did it run after the accident. I come from a decent Mechanical background and new right off the back that it was false, but what else could I do at that point. So he charged the insurance company to get a refurbished engine put it. No big deal to me because I wasn't paying, but I still knew it was dishonest. Then the day came I got my car back. The passenger side door was misaligned the pinstripe faded out in aprox 4 months the bolts and screws in the engine compartment were mismatched, and I counted 4 that was completly missing. The headlights would bounce because they were not resecured, found JB weld type material (which was painted over) holding some of the body together, the radiator fan was never replaced and was "fixed" in place instead. After aprox 2k miles the fan made a grinding noise while I was on the road and before I could pull over cut a hole in my radiator leaving my car overheated. I got it towed and replaced by a radiator shop on underwood/spencer for about $600. Moter caused vibrations on the dash and wheel. Got tires replaced, and the vibration remained the same. I'm just being 100% honest. This guy WILL take just about any car in and take the insurance company to the bank. If you don't catch the problems before you leave SAS your pretty much SOL unless you have a lawyer willing to help you build a case for cheap. My fault was picking up the car and driving away without inspecting it first. Just do what you can to keep this company from swindling you. FYI I'm not the only person that has had a unfortunate event. I've met 2 others, 1 a co-worker and another who I met through a friend. I will also say I was recommended by my step-day who had a great experience with him, but did also admit he didn't trust George because he witnessed a confrination with him and another customer over some repairs. Just be careful with ALL mechanic shops, but especially this one.

George (owner) is the man. Very helpful, great value & fast. He really looks out for your best interest and does not try to put one over on you. Whether you need an oil change or a ton of body work, this is the place to go.
