LA Mexicana Restaurant

This restaurant is family owned, passed down from generation to generation. We've eaten at this restaurant since we were children, and we are all now in our 50's & 60's. This is one restaurant which has always had the same food entries in their menu, and have never changed the way they are prepared and served. Their specialty is chicken flautas, which are delicious and prepared exactly the same way every time; however, they are known to have the best enchiladas in town. My husband and I eat there frequently, and my sisters & their families, all from out of town, cannot visit Laredo without going to eat at La Mexicana.

Not so great: We came from Houston to Laredo and arrive at this restaurant 20min till closing time-the owner rushed us to place our orders/ asked several times for drinks and chips/were not notify that there was no more rice and no coke available, until we had already placed the orders/they forgot to bring one ordered and after 5min laters I asked for the order to be canceled and she said it was ready but it wasn't because I saw them preparing it..requested for Ice Cream-but instead received frozen chocolate milk instead of Icecream because once it was melted it was nothing but liquid. DO NOT ORDER ICE CREAM because IT IS NOT!! Bad service, this people were ready to leave.
