User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI understand their TexMex is pretty ordinary. But if you like really great food, order some of their specialties like Fish Cancun, Gallitos Snapper, Seafood enchiladas, Pollo del Rio, Pollo Ixtapa, and so on. Their spinach and chicken quesadillas are great too. The charro beans are usually terrific. Or if you're in an el cheapo mood, get a few soft chicken tacos. They're big, very tasty and under 2 bucks apiece. Service is usually so-so but you can't find dishes like their specialties just anywhere, and they really are special.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMy name Is Hope and I recently have the blessing of now being the General Manager at Los Cucos.Its a job I dont take for granted and know its will be a lot of work.with that said I wanted to get on line and see some of our reviews and Im quite disappointed but Im glad I read these reviews .It tells me what dirrection I need to go in.I cant make you promises but I can tell you Iam about to make few changes for the better and in all hopes you wont give up. Los Cucos is a great restaurant and the food is excellent.Im a proud employee and want to welcome all of you back for another spin.cant wait to see your faces agian.

My husband and I took some friends to the Los Cucos in New Braunfels, Tx last night and that is a mistake I will never make again. It was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The server was very inattentive and did not ever try to up-sale anything much less offer to get us ANYTHING. Every drink we got we had to ask him for, even when I ordered a drink he did not ask the rest of the table if they would like anything. We wanted to order an appitizer but couldn't get anybodys attention to order it before they brought the food out. Then we sat there for 10 minutes after our table had been cleared waiting for the check that never came. I had to go the manager to bring us the check. The worst part of this was when I did try to bring it to the assistant managers attention (Tony) he did not seem like it was a big deal. All he did was get us our check and then gave us his card and told us when we come back to ask for him and he would give us SOMETHING for free. I don't know why he thought that was sufficient...the service was crap and he did not do anything to try and fix that. And what makes us think that he will remember our situation and make it right if we did decide to come back? The service was poor but the thing that upset me the most is when I did try to let management know, they did NOTHING in the present to try and fix it.
