What a sight to behold: glass-walled elevators ascend more than 500 feet to the observation deck, providing a panoramic view of the city. Standing a total 750 feet tall, the tower was constructed for HemisFair, the 1968 World's Fair and symbolizes the progress made by the people of the Western Hemisphere. Tower of the Americas is one landmark that you surely can't miss on your trip to San Antonio. This tower is open to public everyday from 10 a.m onwards.
The view from above is spectacular, best view of the city day or night, I would recommend anyone to visit if ever in this area. Didn't visit the restaurant so no comment there. Did see the 4D movie which was cool and great if you have kids.
my family and I arrived at 1:30. We were told that wait was an hour and 20 minutes. In which seemed quit strange, cuz there were so many empty tables. The hostess was rude, her skirt was to tight, she had dollar bills her nails, very unprofessional. We had appertizers in the lounge. The menu had shrimp cocktail with 5 shrimp. When it arrived it only had 4 shrimp $12.99. However appertizers were good. then we went to check on wait status, the hostess told us we were next, it still another 30 minutes to get sat. of course i must mention that it was very plush, diffently not the right place for a kitchen manager to hold interviews right behinds do kitchen staff interviews. once we were sat it took waiter 30 more minutes to take our order.Waiter offered us dessert before he even put our food order in. Hello we had been waiting for 2 and half hours we want our order in. We didnt want to hear dessert menu. Once food finally arrived, my shrimp was cold, my moms garlic potatos were cold as well. The view was beautiful, service and food quality were terrible and very overpriced. When we left I wanted to cry because I wanted this to be a nice experience for my family, and it was far from that. My mom told, dont worry sugar it is not your fault!!!!!
The view is spectacular. The food was over-priced and very average...but I recommend everyone should go at least once for the experience. Loved the view from the elevator.
