I've been going there since the early '70s. Went through Lackland and found this place on town pass. Dragged three friends away from the McDonalds mindset. Had the Ruben, coffee and cheesecake and I was sold. Have brought back the cheesecake and mustard to IL, IA, NE, CO, AR, and TN to great acclaim.
Their homemade rootbeer is especially good(and a full selection of the real brew is available.)
Try not to be in a hurry if you're attempting a weekday lunch. I've seen a line winding around the building. It's a perfect spot to relax from a Saturday riverwalk excursion.
Are you kidding me!! Called and asked them directions. Asked what time they closed- 8:30. I would assume we were in the same time zone EIGHT THIRTY!! Ocho y media!!!! 8:30 is also what it says on the door.
We get there at 7:52. The place is locked up and the staff is cleaning up. They won't even acknowledge the people standing outside wanting to eat there. We drove 30 minutes to eat there. Not anywhere else, just there.
Piss poor management, nothing else.
Just a rude waitress saying "We're Closed". No kidding, we can read the sign that says the same thing just above the sign that says you don't close for another 38 minutes.
I guess the next sign you put up will say "out of business"
Who runs this place anyway? Was he/she even there or did they just leave the place to kids to run.
Sad, sad, sad. I guess customer service is a thing of your past, too.
And get a website so people can see the menu!!
Is anyone running this place or does someone just unlock the door each morning and the customers make their own food?
I loved this restaurant. My grandparents are german and I felt like I was eating some of my grandma's cooking. And the prices are great!!! I absolutely recommend Shilo's! A must go to restarant!

Moron. Learn to read fool.
This idiot is golfin with a small putter. Get a life!
I've been eating there for over 35 years. Believe me, they will long outlast your pissy mood. All restaurants will close the doors or not accept customers before their actual closing time. Closing means done, finished eating, and out the door. Not accepting customers 2 minutes before closing. This restuarant has fantastic food. And any trip is worth the time just to get their homemade Pea Soup with Bratwurst AND their homemade Root Beer served in a frosty, icy mug! Frankly, I've never gotten any of the deserts because I'm always WAY too full, but I have certainly heard how wonderful they are and I've drooled over them seeing other people get them.
Any reastaurant that closes when I'm in town get's a 1 star, period!
