this is a good place to take a date out, i would say its nice, plates your looking for a good 10 dollars but its a nice set up. when i was their u have the bus boys checking if you need anything as well the waiters. good tasty food
I was expecting a lot given all the great reviews... unfortunately the food and the service were not as great as they could have been. The waiter was in a rush, rush here, rush there and made us feel rushed.. We walked in at 5pm and were out by 5:45pm and spent $51.00 just for food. We ordered a spider roll and a rainbow roll. at $11.00 each we expected a plentiful bounty. WRONG. The rainbow roll measured the length of my hand from wrist to fingertip, (about 7 inches) and the Spider roll was (5) wide 1/2" thick slices.. can we say rip off! On the positive the fish was fresh. Also, not sure why the rainbow roll had fake crabmeat, it gave it a weird taste. For a main dish we ordered pad thai, which was ok, we compare it to the pad thai we order at Asia Kitchen (great place/eat there often) While there were large pcs of meat in the pad thai, there were too big. we would have preferred the same amount of meat in smaller bite size pieces. The peanuts were incorporated into the dish, so the peanuts were soggy, again we prefer them on the side to add while we are eating. We had to ask three times for chili sauce, which never came. The next dish we ordered was off the "early dinner specials" beef and broccoli with steamed rice,(2)chicken wings and a seafood puff (The seafood puff was one of the best I ever had) The beef and broccoli was fresh and for $8.95 was a good value. We would probably go back for the main dishes but not for sushi. We'll reserve that for Godai's on West Ave. It's too bad Godai's is not open on Sundays!!!... oh well.. all in all this dining experience was ok.. nothing to really brag on... probably won't go back as there are too many other restaurants to try in San Antonio.
I love their lunch specials - almost everything is under $7.00. Their early dinner specials (between 5-6:30) are a dollar more but worth going here for. I have had several things on the menu, and not one was bad. I read negative reviews on the sushi, but the sushi I had was very good.

Poor comments from the employee of another restaurant, with poor facts (sorry no buffet at Formosa Garden) is not the way to try and drive customers to your restaurant. You and your friends "Andrew", and "You Wish" who are commenting on every chinese restaurant in the area negatively, sometimes with the EXACT same words, need to know it won't work! Most restaurant goers will recognize that the three of you are trying to trash every Chinese restaurant in the area EXCEPT Hong Fong, who you 3 suggest everyone go to. You couldn't be employees there, could you ???? Come on, the exact same comments for PF Chang and Hsing yu, your getting a little lazy, NO ??
