Company Information: This beautiful River Walk hotel was built specifically to accommodate visitors of the 1968 World's Fair. Curiously, it was built modularly, with each nearly complete guest room lifted into place by crane in order to meet the construction deadline. Every room features a private balcony and the hotel's beautiful lobby features intricately detailed mosaic paintings and tiles. This property is known for its impeccable service. The hotel boasts the longest consecutive run of Four-Diamond recognition by the American Automobile Association (AAA).

We stayed at the Hilton in June,2008. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and the hotel is conveniently located. The Riverwalk, the Alamo, the Riverwalk Mall and tourist shopping are all easily reached by foot. Most of San Antonio is accessible by street car lines ($1 per person). The only negative on the hotel was the cost of parking.
Toe nail clippings everywhere!: Okay... I have traveled a lot in my time but I was truly appaled at this "old" building being called a Hilton.
The parking is terrible, unless you pay for valet parking $25.00 a day, you have to park in a parking garage 3 BLOCKS AWAY! Then you just have to get lucky that the garage is not FULL! We walked in to our room and there were toe nail clippings everywhere.. on the floor, on the little coffee table... EWWWW! The bathroom was older and the shower had mold in it. The lobby was hardly anything... the gift shop was like an 8 by 8 room and the swimming pool was tiny, on a roof top and the water was pure SALT! Yucky.
Not only all that but DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL IF YOU HAVE PEANUT ALLERGIES! The rave that one of the bars serves over 400 types of peanuts! Whatever!
Waste of money!
Excellent Hotel: Stayed here for the 2006 Alamo Bowl. If you stay here, you will not need a car. City Parking garage is located two blocks away for $7/24 hours of parking. No need to pay the $19/day valet fee. The Hotel was clean, comfortable, and safe. Located right on the riverwalk, anything you need is located only minutes away. The only beef I have with the hotel is the $10/day fee for internet usage. I find it funny Super 8 can provide free high speed internet access but the much pricier Hilton can't. Other than the internet fee, I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I will definitely stay here again!
