| About: | Housed in what was once the Lone Star Brewery, this museum boasts fairly comprehensive collections of both ancient and Asian art. The Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Latin American Art displays what is probably one of the most impressive collections of pre-Columbian, Spanish Colonial, and Latin American modern and folk art in the United States. On Sundays, the museum sponsors educational workshops for children, in which they can create their own pieces of art to display at home. The museum also plays host to touring exhibits such as one featuring Egyptian artifacts on loan from Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. |

I went to the Chavez Ravine exhibit and really enjoyed it. Although it was small it was very informative. Most of the pictures on the wall came from the book Chavez Ravine, 1949 A Los Angeles Story by Don Normark. It was also emotional for me because my paternal family was one of the many families that lived there. I enjoyed it so much we became members!
Art Museum: this was the best exicitement ive had being near Art
Fantastic!: I love this museum. It has a mixture of different cultures here. Lots of exhibits, tons of floors to visit. I was there when they were remodeling and I enjoyed the few exhibits that were open. I'm hoping to go back soon and see the newly remodeled exhibits. I also liked that they had an art exhibit called The Retratos. I LOVED IT!!! It's an art exhibit that is soley for mexican artists who draw or portray mexican culture. God it was beautiful!!! If ever The Retratos is in your area at your local museum, be sure to see it. You'll see a different insight of mexican culture from then, to now. THANKS SAMA, for allowing me to experience it!!!!
