About:If your memories of movie theaters include sticky floors and shabby seats, the new Live Oak 18 cinema will surprise and delight. Featuring 18 screens, all of which have stadium-style seating, this spotlessly clean multiplex offers a good selection of first-run movies. There is a large concession area with fresh popcorn, cold drinks, nachos and candies. One thing hasn't changed from the old days of movie theaters is that Raisinets and Twizzlers licorice are still sold by the boxful. The spectacular sound system and comfortable, roomy seating, however, are all new. Call for show times and current releases.

My family and I frequent this facility often and prefere it over the quarry and several others in the SA. I have never felt any safety issues, or seen the hoodrats any of the times i have been there. There is alot of teens hanging out outside during the weekends. So if you are afraid of teens being teens then i guess that can be a draw back. The staff is curtious yet slow at the concessions but always helpful. One of the cleanest in San Antonio and the teens are behaved and arent a issue, when compared to the quarry.

To the reviewer who made a comment as to the safety at night, I am in total agreement. I was driving through the parking lot with my girlfriend to eat at the steakhouse nearby, and I felt like I was on the scene of a Little Wayne rap video.

There definitely is a "hoodrat" feel to the atmosphere, and I'd strongly avoid taking a date or one's family here, unless you are carrying a tazer or at the very least some pepperspray.

If you are handicapped, this is not the theatre to visit. Too much walking just to get to the box office, then more walking to get to your movie. Handicapped parking is always filled up. Pop corn lines are way too long, not enough help. We waited 35 minutes to get snacks. Girl was very slow, didn't know how to work our gift card. She said the machine wouldn't take our gift card! Go to Northwoods, good facility!
