User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI have been to many steakhouses while on business trips. This was by far one of the best dining experiences I have had in a very long time. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress (Bev) was so personable,and efficient, that if there was anything lacking with the food, we certainly didn't notice. Great job Saltgrass for providing such great service and food. We will definitely be back, every time we are in San Antonio !!!

We went to Saltgrass when it first opened. The service was bad (that is to be expected sometimes at a new opening) but the problem was that they didn't know how to cook steaks.
Fast forward a number of years to the most recent experience. The service was very good, but they still can't cook steaks. EVERYONE at our table's steak was overcooked. They did gladly take some back and provide a properly cooked steak, but if you're going to charge $16 for 10 oz. of meat, at least cook it right.
We'll stick with Texas Land & Cattle Company for a mid-range steak house.

A wood burning grill?Who allows that in a restaurant? Searing at 1500 degrees?We're not trying to melt copper.Try singing "we shall overcome" to your steak at the blast furnace that you eat at,maybe that will tenderize it!-The food was great,service acceptable.
