Big Lou's Pizza

I just got back from my trip to San Antonio and thoroughly enjoyed it last week. I am a huge man vs food and when I found out I was goign to San Antonio on business I figured check out the episode and find a place to go too.

After reading all the bad reviews about service and stuff I wanted to see it hands on and I absolutely disagree with anyone on the overall atmosphere. Yes they were a little nuts because of the amount of people there but that is why we went early.

Couple things: they do not do reservations so plan ahead. We went early at 4 pm and had no issues at all.

Rude: I laughed at this too. Maybe some people have had bad interaction but of course everybody is entitled to a bad day. My group of 12 enjoyed every second of it and we felt the experience was awesome. The owner even came over to our table to thank us for visiting and talked to us about his plans for the future.

The 42 pizza itself was very tasty. Of course the middle is tough to hold up but why wouldnt it, the slices are longer than a baby's arm. The pizza was awesome truly and I was very surprised because of it size.

The fact that man vs food is even goign back as favourite top 100 in the USA is amazing and its because of the food.

Well you make your choice and say what you want. But when you order ahead of food coming and have people serve you later, its tought to get amazign service. When lines are there and could take 1 to 2 hours to gert things, stuff must be good.

Please note that some of these reviews are not valid. They are written by someone with too much time on their hands by people that may or may not have set foot in the place. It's obvious that Yahoo doesn't police this area very well. Big Lou's has a unique pizza style that is a departure from the norm. We love them. You may not. Their business is booming...I think the pizza speaks for itself. Be patient and I think you'll be glad you tried them.

I most definately disagree with "HONEST", We went there for my girlfriend's birthday and although the wait was a little long, it was well worth it and understandable. We had ordered the BIG GIANT pizza and this thing is almost as big as your table! The regular sized servings are just as good as are thier appetizers and salad. Big Lou himself gave my girlfriend a bday hug and well wishes and the atmoshpere was jumping and full of happy and pleased customers.
