There are several around town and the alterations go to the seamstress in the Thousand Oaks location.
I've had two brand new jeans ruined by her and dress pants done sloppily.
You know how hard it is to find time and energy to shop for yourself and you know how hard it is to find a nice pair of jeans that fit well. Well, I just found these jeans that I immediately loved (GAP Sexy Boots) and dropped off ASAP to Dutchboy Cleaners to get it hemmed. I've had a pair hemmed there before.
Well, much to my dismay, the jeans were hemmed too short, uneven and stitched sloppily. She attached the original hem to the pants which I didn't ask for so the pants hung weird and it flipped outward, kind of like bell-bottoms. After I went in to complain, she attempted to "fix it". It turned out still lopsided with the outside seam SHORTER than the inseam in one leg, the hem still "swooping" in the front and back. If the jeans were long enough, it would be less obvious but because it was too short to wear it with heels, it was very obviously retarded looking. The seamstress acted like there was nothing wrong with the jeans so I had to ask another woman working there (manager/owner perhaps) to come look at me wearing the jeans. It was obviously uneven so instead of lying and saying that it was even, she just asked me to take off the jeans so she could "measure" the pants. They both attempted to pull the hem together and said it was straight and there was nothing they could do about it. They even started blaming the unevenness to the way the jeans were made! Unbelievable.
They refused to compensate for the jeans they ruined, which I spent $140 on, and only refunded the alteration fee. Incompetence was one thing but the attitude and rudeness they showed was totally infuriating and made me never come near this place again. AND also tell everyone I know about how awful they are.
Stay away from Dutchboy cleaners!
I love Dutch Boy Cleaners. This business' ethics are above reproach.
After leaving a $100.00 bill in a shirt pocket, the employee called my home and left a message before I could arrive. When I retrieved the money the next day it was handed to me in a sealed envelope with my name, address and telephone number printed on the outside.
I recently moved several miles from my previous home and, while this cleaners is no longer the closest to my new home, I choose to use this cleaners because I know the company is reliable and honest.
I tried your cleaners after Slater White closed station on Thousand Oaks. WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN THE QUALITY!!!!!!!
My husband shirts have never looked as good. Someone really cares about quality!
Thanks for the excellent job and the ladies that manage your location (Thousand Oaks) are as nice as can be and very professional.
Thanks again. I'm your customer forever!
