If you’re looking for a school to begin your academic career this would be a lovely place to start.
I was glad to have been a part of this school and community.
The academics are great and they have very flexible course offerings. It is however very difficult to get any feedback from the admissions/advising staff via email or phone. I had sent a couple of emails to the admissions department with no reply or acknowledgement. Calling the office of admissions and advising was no different. It was extremely difficult to get a hold of any one to speak, before the automated operated disconnected the call due to high volume. Quite frankly I'm not surprised. After going in person to the Advising Office, I hope that is the LAST time. There was one person attending a line of 10+ people, with 2 other staff members, watching her and not doing a thing about it. When they finally got around to taking their stand behind the counter (after decidedly going to the cafeteria for a to go meal and refreshments), one has the gull to eat her meal in front of everyone on her desk, as we all wait for her to finish. It's a shame their customer service lacks, as this is a great school.
I started College at NVC and i grew to love it. At first it seemed like a continuation of HS and to a degree it sort of is. Now that I am all finished with NVC and attend a local University I realize how much more the NVC professors do for you, and how they really do care. It's not a matter of it just being easier, which it is. It's more about the teachings and real learning of the material. I think NVC is a great college for anyone to go to if your aiming for a 4 year degree, the 1st two years of college will just be basics and since the professors here are easier and it's way cheaper then any university you might as well go!
