Visited Port A in April 2009. Food here was so-so, service was so-so (we went at a non-busy time even) and the prices were higher than what their online menu stated. The only thing we liked were the oysters on the half shell and the atmosphere. Would not recommend and would not visit again. Go to Seafood and Spaghetti Works instead - I know weird name but the food is so much better, just wish it had a great view too.

I wish I wouldve read these reviews before we drove all the way from Corpus Christi. This place will fool you from the outside look and decor, it Looks like a very nice place from the street.
Inside is also nice and the patio/deck is great for enjoying the nice breeze by the ship channel. However, all the boats blocked all view of water/birds, defeated the purpose of sitting outside to enjoy the day. The waiter was definitely unorganized or just didnt care. Got 2nd refill on drinks at end of meal after having to ask several times. The 2 seafood platters we ordered 16.99 and 17.99 each came with only 3 pieces of shrimp and fish on one and 3 VERY small pieces of shrimp and scallops on the other. My mom's burger looked good though...For the prices, sucky service and average food, this place isn't worth returning again. The restaurant next door, Virginia's looked interesting with their double deck outdoor dining and CLEAR view of the channel. I think next time we take a day drive to Port A we will try that place instead.

Trout Street Bar and Grill was an incredible experience and the Food/Service was perfect. I enjoyed the incredible view of the ship channel while admiring the decorations of old pictures from 1930's Port A. The Margarita's and Fresh Grilled Snapper a great choice. We also enjoyed the next night bringing our fish that we caught in the bay inside for Trout Street to Cook for us Family style. Do Not MISS OUT ON THIS PLACE.
