    my girlfriend and i went to eat at katz 21 for the first time and was completely impressed by the whole atmesphere of the place! best food i have eatin in a long time and the general manager austin powers made sure our night went well! great food and great service!
    absolutely worth the price!

    Worst experience in my life: My girlfriend and I went to Katz 21 earlier this month, she had the mushrooms for an appetizer, and the grouper for the main course. I had the prime rib and lobster bisk. The bisk was ok, nothing to write home about, her mushrooms had about a gallon of salt on them and had to be sent back. I received my prime rib and immediately knew it was going to be tough, i decided to be optimistic since I had just sent the salt laden mushrooms back. However, I just could not stand it, this prime rib was tougher than beef jerky I basically forced myself to try to eat it, at one point I had to regurgitate my food into my napkin and place it next to the disgusting roll of fat that was not even attatched to the rib in the first place. If it is any consolation my girlfriend liked her fish, however fish is not hard to prepare now is it?

    Bottom line go to the Republic, or drive two hours for good steak at Mortons in San Antonio.

    Smoke smell: Food, service were outstanding wine list for the table was excellent
    However- I almost had an asthma attack from the smoke and smell in the lounge.
    You have to go through the smoking area to get to the ladies room. Our group of 8 would have loved to sit in the beautiful lounge and have a few cocktails - sitting on the beautiful sofas; but the smell was too much for any of us even passing through and our clothes stunk. I guess you cater to the Cigar and cigarette smokers. It is too bad. You are loosing a great cliente.
