I was in McAllen for a few days, and thought I'd check this place out. I had the Filet Oscar and found it to be a piece of perfection! It was grilled just right (medium-rare) and I found the 6-oz. portion to be just right since I visited a little late. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who happens to be in the McAllen area.
On a side note, I'm not quite sure what the previous review writer was referring to by calling the place not classy due to it's catering to Hispanics. It may not be in Mexico, but it is in the Rio Grande Valley (80-85% Hispanic and a mere five miles from Mexico.) Besides, I ate in the bar and didn't find anything HIspanic-themed about it. No Spanish music was played and it was a very nice atmosphere to eat in.
Great Food, but was disappointed with the Cantina. They really cater to the hispanic people. If your not bilingual then don't go, because that's the only music they play. I felt like I was in Mexico instead of Texas! As if their aren't enough of those places already in McAllen. Not too Classy-
Very nice romantic steakhouse for the most part. It's very dark inside just so you know. Great place to impress your date or wife. Food is really good and expensive. The only negative could be the service. Most of the time it's great but on one occasion is was below average. For these prices the service should always be top notch.
