WOW Diamond Sky you need to go to a lower class place. And the owner of Espana is fabulous far from cocky he has class something you obviously do not have. And we could not have had better service. We have been there several times and it was a great experience.

There is nowhere else in McAllen, TX that comes even CLOSE to this restaurant. We went last night and had a very nice dining experience, the presentation was extremely impressive, our server was well-informed and courteous, and our food was DEEEEELICIOUS! The only down side is the price.. all salads are $15, which really isn't so bad, but when you get to the "real" entrees (steak, chicken, veal, pasta, etc etc etc), they start at around $30 a plate and skyrocket up from there. I had a pomegranate martini and it was one of the best drinks I've ever had. My friends both ordered steaks and were blown away by how absolutely perfect they had been prepared. For one salad, two steak plates, two beers, and a martini, our total was $145. The atmosphere (and price of meals) made me think of somewhere a couple would go on their anniversary, or maybe someone's birthday, but on MOST Americans' budgets, this would not be an every-weekend dining location. Price aside, Espana is worthy of all 5 stars!!

I am not sure why anyone would say this place is overrated, it is somewhere you go for a fine dining experience - it is easily the nicest restaurant in McAllen - you would not go here expecting to party and get rowdy. It is as upscale as anything could possibly be, this far south in Texas. If you are looking for a smokey club or a bar where things are going to be loud and wild, then this is not the place for you.

This is place is over rated, and entirely to small, the clientele is getting tackier by the minute, and the owner thinks he some sort of god, and truly should get over it, his cockiness is over whelming. The drinks and so called cuisine is tasteless and the service is slow and is lacking energy.

Your foto is nice but your comment is a bit disturbing having been to restaurant several times and never being dissappointed. Perhaps you have a totally different view of the personal dining experience..I'm not sure.
