We have found Carmike a nice place to go. It's close and always has seats. We are seniors and you do get a discount for that or you can get one before 5:00 PM. Haven't been in awhile, so don't know if that's changed.
Don't eat popcorn, so can't comment on that.
I'd like to know where the lady found new releases for only $4.50.

Movies: too large to walk all the way to the back to see a movie if you are ill, they are way to expensive for the very same new release, seats are too comfortable since they rock back & can hardly breath right. The employees are so rude & have I mentioned the choppy popcorn? even if u get it fresh it is horrible! I have gone when I had no choice because I go with friends or family but I will not pay more than 7. again! I am lucky our family found a place where new releases are only $4.50 & service is awesome not to mention their food!~ Their hot dogs are top quality non like the fake expensive ugly ones at Carmike!

Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: Your going to pay higher prices to go to the movies these days. Seats are more comfortable than Hollywood in McAllen. Plus the arms move up in case you want them to. Sound is a bit too loud, we have to take ear plugs. Last time we were there watching Christmas Carol we were freezing. But I prefer this theater out of all available.
