Been going to Armando's Pizza for well over 10 years. Everything is hand made from scratch down all the way to the pizza sauce. Priced very well and very delicious pizza and pasta's. Only negative here is the service, thats IF the owners wife is running the restaurant that day then she can be unprofessional. Its not uncommon for her to close the restaurant early, several hours before they're supposed to and turn many customers away or make you feel like a nuisance/burden just by looking at her facial expressions. Granted her husband owns the place, who is a good guy thats why hes had my business for over 10 years, but this isn't the way you treat customers and try and run a successful business. Otherwise i'd be happy to give this place a 5 star rating but because of the attitude of service i am giving it 4 stars.
The pizza is not exactly made to order. The taste is adequate but better then any of the fast food pizza chains in Edinburg. The service can be iffy depending on how the day is going for the owner. The price is inexpensive. All and all a decent place for lunch. Kind of hard to get to and not very inviting from the exterior. Inside one can have a nice little lunch in a quiet place and get some reading done (a hint for all the UTPA students). Glad it is there.
The best pizza in South Texas! My in-laws are in PA, so I am always going to PA, NY for pizza, and Armando's is the CLOSEST thing to New York pizza in Texas!
