Shortly after this first acquisition, Raycom Media acquired two other companies. Raycom Media now stretches from Syracuse, N.Y., to Honolulu with businesses in more than 20 states. The television stations cover more than 10 percent of the United States' television households. Along with broadcasting, Raycom Media businesses include event management, distribution of syndicated television programming, and information systems support and design. The company, through Raycom Sports, owns and operates the Continental Tire Bowl in Charlotte, N.C., and two Ladies Professional Golf Association golf tournaments, as well as produces pre-season NFL football games for non-owned stations.
