User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI was disappointed in the place, doesn't look like much, but saw very good reviews on-line so we decided to give it a try. Service was good and the staff was friendly, but the food was sub-par. The chips and salsa, which cost $1 per basket (not that big of a deal, just surprising), was obviously store bought and not that good. My wife ordered a chicken taco & enchilada plate and the taco shells were also store bought and the chicken did not have much flavor. The waiter forgot to bring the guacamole that came with my dinner and the food was average at best. We live in a West Texas city of about 100K and there are at least 5 Mexican food restaurants that had better food than Jessie's - why even the fast food place Rosa's make their own flour tortillas. Prices were reasonable for a tourist town, but the food was not memorable. I would not recommend it, unless you just HAVE to eat Mexican food.

EXTREMELY RUDE!!! Me and my family went in for dinner on a Thursday night and the waiter tried to seat all 5 of us at a table for 4. I asked if we could sit at one of the many larger tables that were empty. It was a slow night but he said "no we save that table for larger party's." I said we could not fit our family at that small table so we would have to go somewhere else. The waiter just threw the menus down and walked away. I asked the bartender who the manager was and they said he wasn't there. I have never been treated so rudely at any restaurant. We will never go back!

What a place!! It doesn't look like much but the food and waitstaff are beyond excellent(if that is possible). The Fried Shrimp, Taco al Carbon and Carnitas are the best on the Island. My wife and I vacation on SPI every year and Jesse's in the First stop and the last meal of our vacation. The margarita's are perfect, and The Waitstaff (Lupe) are the freindliest people on the island. You MUST try this place!!!
