History antiques and pecan waffles: It was very late when we arrived. We tiptoed up the highly polished stairs to the restful blue and white room to the left. The room was lovely,I really liked the touch of the Dior hatbox on the wardrobe. We fell greatfully into the lush feather bed,the tastful antiques barely registering until the next morning. We stumbled down the stairs noting the beauty of the grand old house as the delicious smell of pecon waffles and gourmet coffee wafted up to greet us.
Due to a mix up of our travel agent, our room was not available for the second night.Shawn went out of her way to find another place for us to stay and boy she outdid her sweet self. Her friend Kay owns the Marmaduke Manlove B&B.Kay's place was equally impressive. If asked to choose,....I'd choose both.My friends and I will be back and we will stay at both places.Don't ever waste your money on a hotel or motel again.Once you try these two places you'll never go back to the dull sameness of the same o same o of the hotel/motel drag. Its not a far drive from Austin and you owe it to yourselves to be spoiled, pampered and soaked in Texas history by folks that know their stuff. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We shall return...again and again and again
