Place to SKIP unless every other eating place in town except McDonald's and other fast food places are closed!
Have had four meals at the Spokes ...
Service: Average
Food: Mediocre
Cleanliness: Sub-standard
Friendliness and Atmosphere: last weeks cold oatmeal about covers this one. Very uncharacteristic for a "local" Texas restaurant.
Admit I haven't had their hamburgers, though, so those MAY be good. Guess some reviews are inflated due to the entertainment offered by this establishment. It certainly isn't the food or service. Even the drinks from the bar are a bit on the "short" side.
Much better places to eat in Burnet, at least six to eight, sorry Spokes.
This is exactly what Burnet needed.: The food is good, the menu offers something for everyone and it is FUN!
This is a family friendly restaurant that has pool tables, washer pits, video games and a full bar. Non-smoking inside but there is a smoking area in the back. We were there last week and the service is good. The Spokes chicken was excellent and they were trying out some new wraps. They have big screen tv for sports and some other tvs. There was a big group that looked like there were celebrating a birthday and having quite a good time.
Sure changed my idea of Burnet - for the better!
Really cool place. I loved the burgers. About the second best I ever had in my life... and I'm a burger expert.
The live music venue is REALLY COOL. It's sort of like the Backyard in Austin, or Hills Cafe in Austin. It's outdoors, but the trees cover a lot and there are lights all throughout the trees. Really cool.
We saw a great band there, called Sandsuky, from Temple. They were absolutely incredible. They played a wide range of music from country, rock, and soul. It was all older stuff, which I remember growing up. They even has a sax player, which I love. Not just your ordinary guitar band. And a chick keyboard player. Really cute.

I guess they're having live music all the time now. Glad to hear it. It's a fun place. Tried chicken nachos to go and they were good.
