Well, it's sounds as though the person on the lowest point of the totem pole is running the place. as my co- workers were there not long ago and got some lousy service..Vow to never return as the waiter was terribly rude.... And there never seem to be anyone with management
to rectify the wrong for the customer...And yes the customers not always right but they are the ones who pay the bill when they come to eat at any restaurant. What are our expectations of a restaurant?
Good food, service and a clean establishment..Thats not asking alot..
Unless they have finally decided to stop allowing smoking in there, I don't want to go put my health and that of my children in danger...so go somewhere else that doesn't have the deadly second-hand smoke.
I've become a loyal customer of this place over the years. They've got a nice big menu with tons of choices, but of course I have my favorites.
The salsa that they bring to the table is completely awesome. It's got a great fresh tomato thing going, with lots of cilantro, and it's got a kick but not too much. I really do love the salsa at Jalisco and although I'm not a super picky eater, with a jillion choices in this part of the world for Tex Mex, I won't keep going to a place that doesn't nail the salsa and Jalisco's does it the way I like it. Plus, the tortilla chips are always super fresh and very tasty.
I get the chicken enchiladas with green sauce about half the time at every Tex-Mex place I go to and Jalisco's does these great as well.
Sometimes when I go at night and I'm super hungry, I get this ribeye that they make smothered in cheese and mushrooms with guacamole salad. It's not the quality of steak you get at good steak places, certainly, but it's a great "strap on the feedbag" meal that I order again and again. Very tasty.
I also LOVE the lengua tacos at the place. Lengua (beef tongue) with cilantro and onions is TO DIE FOR on a taco, it is really sensational.
I'm usually coming from work in the morning when I pass the place at Cedar Creek - there I usually get the Nopalito with Egg with some corn tortillas and it's a great "breakfast for dinner" thing for me, I like it a lot. I love the waitresses there as well. In fact I'd really have to give both locations top marks for service, everyone is always super friendly.
I also have to mention their little taco stand across from the movie theatre in Bastrop - their flour tortillas are incredible and you can get some really great breakfast tacos there. Again, try the lengua! The barbacoa chalupas (or are they tostadas? I forget) are also great. I don't recommend the beef fajita though, meh.
Jalisco's is the best Tex-Mex in Bastrop in my opinion, I'll always go back.

Aw, this review makes me happy, it's actually my dad's restaurant. And people always compliment on the flour tortillas, he has a tortilla shop where he sells them.
We went for lunch at the restaurant today and the service was awful! Our server was very rude and we suspect that he did not turn in our order as he came to ask our orders again to "check". When asking to speak to the manager in charge or the owner, we were told they did not know who he was and that there was no phone number to reach him on. We attempted to call twice and being hung up on, we were able to speak with someone who was very reluctant to give any information out. The purpose of this email is to actually speak with the owner of the restuarant regarding our displeasure with the restaurant. Could you possibly email me back with your father's contact information as we would really like to speak with him regarding a couple of matters we observed today.
